Pointe work is a central element of ballet that plays a key role in the advancement and success of a serious student. To begin pointe work, instructor approval is required as well as several years of previous ballet experience. Students usually do not begin pointe until the ages 11 or 12. Students will learn barre and center exercises based on their individual progression. More advanced students will also have a chance to learn a selection of pointe variations during class time.
